For almost half a century the East Yorkshire Classic has been at the centre of cycle sport in the UK.
The single day race, based in the medieval market town of Beverley, takes the riders on a 95 mile undulating route around the East Riding.
One of ten British Cycling Premier Calendar events, The East Yorkshire Classic benefits from the continuing sponsorship of the East Riding of Yorkshire Council and the enthusiastic support of the Humberside Police.
The race is one of the highlights of the week long Yorkshire Festival of Cycling.
With a £3,000 prize fund and a £500 first prize, The East Yorkshire Classic starts and finishes outside the former Crown Court House, built in 1804 and now transformed after a £1.3 million restoration and upgrade into The Sessions Health and Beauty Spa, the largest facility of it's type in Europe.
The Rotary Club of Beverley are holding a 10 mile family charity ride using the same start and finish as The East Yorkshire Classic. The event will raise money for 4 local charities, (The Alzheimers Society, Age Concern, Association for people with physical disabilities and The Parkinsons Society). Click here for more details.
